Where it Began
Indie Bride London began in 2008 asMinna, a women’s wear label founded by Minna Hepburn. She created romantic dresses and tops handcrafted in London from beautiful British laces. Soon, she noticed brides choosing her pieces for their weddings because they couldn’t find that same bohemian, laid-back style elsewhere. That sparked a shift. Minna started designing wedding dresses that let brides feel like themselves while looking stunning and staying comfortable.
I (Miina) first joined the brand in 2010 as an intern, back when it was still everyday wear. Over the years, I worked in different roles, and in 2019 I had the chance to take over the business. Saying yes was a no-brainer. It felt like one of those rare moments when life puts you exactly where you’re meant to be.
And where we are now
Today we design and craft romantic, modern bohemian wedding dresses with a focus on sustainability and comfort, perfect for free-spirited brides who want to fully enjoy their day and later repurpose their gown as a cherished part of their wardrobe. Alongside innovative eco-friendly fabrics, we still use the finest British laces we started with. Some of these makers have been weaving lace for over 250 years, using century-old looms and patterns dating back to the early 1900s. Supporting this fading tradition is something we’re deeply proud of, and these timeless materials continue to shape our heirloom-quality gowns.
