Katy and Rich's fun farm wedding

Posted on June 23 2019

Beautiful Katy wore the Tanita, one of our simple yet gorgeous silk dresses, to her farm wedding filled with joy.

Congratulations Katy and Rich!

I found Indiebride London on Love My Dress. My my sister-in-law got married in an Indiebride dress, so I knew I'd be in good hands!
I wanted something that felt vintage-y, but not like a costume. I wanted to be able to move easily (and dance!) in the dress. And I needed something that would flatter my boobs. But I apart from that, I had no idea!
The experience of purchasing the dress was really lovely - my first visit was with my bridesmaids, and it just flew by! We were really well looked after. The only difficulty was that I loved everything in the shop, so narrowing it down was really hard. So I came back a second time with my mum to make the final choice, which was also lovely.
I really loved the Tanita dress straight away, but wasn't sure about the train (I was worried about someone stepping on it on the dance floor). I was really pleased that Miina was able to make me one without a train - thank you so much!

Makeup and hair

My makeup and hair was done by Lipstick & Curls.

None really! I wore Swedish Hasbeen shoes, but no other accessories.

Suit, shirt and tie from Reiss. We actually forgot to buy him new shoes for the wedding, so he wore a pair he's had for years instead.

We got married in Upton Cheyney, near Bristol. Wedding ceremony was in the village chapel, and the reception was at Manor Farm.

We didn't have a particular theme. We really wanted to have a relaxed and fun day, so didn't want the pressure of planning something where it felt that everything had to match. So I suppose a loose theme was 'stuff we like'... and so we went with lots of flowers and fairy lights.

The flowers were by Lucy Coco Flowers (Bristol) - such a lovely girl, and really gorgeous flowers! Again, very informal and unfussy.

Food was provided by Manor Farm - bbq for the main meal, and then a ploughmans in the evening. All using meat from the farm and local fruit/veg!

Best Men DJs, and Brass Junkies brass band.

Joanna Nicole Photography - so recommended! We loved every minute of working with her, she made us feel comfortable right and seemed to know exactly what we wanted without us even having to ask.
